Introduction
N-methylaniline (CAS# 100-61-8) is colorless to reddish brcown oily flammable liquid. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform. Use: as dye intermediate. N-methylaniline is not only the raw material of thiazinone, but also the intermediate of herbicide, n-chloromethyl-n-phenylcarbamoyl chloride. The product is used as intermediate, acid absorbent and solvent for organic synthesis. It is used in the production of cationic brilliant red FG, cationic peach red B and reactive yellow brown kGr in dye industry. It is also used as gasoline additive and antiknock.
