Product Introduction

Propylene Glycol is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H8O2. It is a colorless viscous liquid under normal conditions, almost odorless, and slightly sweet to the ear. It is miscible with water, ethanol, and various organic solvents. There are two isomers of propylene glycol, and unless otherwise specified, propylene glycol generally refers to Propylene Glycol.

Propylene Glycol can be prepared by methods such as hydration of epichlorohydrin, hydrolysis of 1,2-dichloropropane, and oxidation of propylene. Propylene glycol can be used in combination with glycerol or sorbitol as a wetting agent in cosmetics, toothpaste, and soap. It is also used as a moisture regulating and hair dispersing agent in hair dyes, as well as an antifreeze agent. It is also used in the glass paper, plasticizer, and pharmaceutical industries.
