The prices of pesticide products are rising in 2021

Why are the prices of pesticide technical drugs and preparations rising in China this year
As a foreign trade practitioner, this question has been frequently asked by customers in recent months.
Energy prices are soaring all over the world, and China is no exception. In addition, local governments have roughly cut off the power consumption of enterprises in order to achieve China’s annual carbon emission target.
Because a product usually has several upstream raw materials, the situation becomes very bad when the prices of these raw materials are rising or even some are out of stock.
At this time, traders and middlemen in the market have a lot of goods purchased at low prices in the early stage, and their attitude of reluctant to sell also promotes further price increases.
Take the pesticide industry as an example:
CCMP is the main intermediate of two important pesticides imidacloprid and acetamiprid.
The current situation is that the price of CCMP has risen from 80000 yuan per ton in the early stage to 190000-200000 yuan per ton now. Moreover, the validity period of the quotation given by the manufacturer is very short, basically three days, or even the same day.
Such price increases were soon transmitted to the downstream imidacloprid and acetamiprid technical products.
Then it is further transmitted to the formulation products, such as acetamiprid 20% SP, imidacloprid 35% SC, imidacloprid 25% WP, imidacloprid 5% EC, imidacloprid 20% SL, acetamiprid 20% SL, acetamiprid 3% EC.
Soon the whole industry was going up in price from top to bottom.
It is now less than three months before China’s Spring Festival in 2022. Some factories were forced to close early, which further exacerbated the supply shortage of products in the market.
