Introductions of J Acid
J acid is an important intermediate of dyestuff. It can be used to make azo dyestuff, such as direct green lotus R, direct sun resistant ash 2BL, direct acid resistant violet, direct peach red, direct copper dye navy blue, sun resistant blue B2R, reactive scarlet, brilliant orange, grass green and red brown, and scarlet acid and phenyl j acid.
J acid is used to be prepared from beta-naphthylamine. Due to the strong carcinogenicity of β – naphthylamine, this production method has been eliminated. Now, 2-naphthylamine-1-sulfonic acid (Tobias acid) is used as raw material to prepare J-acid. After sulfonation and hydrolysis, 2-naphthenic-5,7-disulfonated monosodium salt (amino J acid) was obtained, and then neutralized, alkali melted and acidified.
