Introductions of Bisphenol S:

White needle crystals. Melting point 246°C-248°C. It is soluble in fatty hydrocarbons, soluble in alcohol and ether, slightly soluble in aromatics, and in water. The molecule contains two hydroxyls and a strong electron-absorbing niobium, so it is more acidic than other phenolics.

Bisphenol S is primarily used as a solidifier. In addition, it can be used as a plating additive, leather tanning agent, dispersal dye high-temperature dyeing dispersant, phenolic resin hardening promoter, resin flame retardant and so on. It is also an intermediate of pesticides, dyes and additives. As a substitute for bps A, it can be used as a raw material for polycarbonate, epoxy, polyester, phenolic resin, as well as a raw material for polyurethane and polyether. The product is also used in the manufacture of color photographic materials, photographic contrast enhancers, thermal recording materials (color rendering agents), daily surfactants and high-efficiency deodorants. Bisphenol S as raw material can be made to obtain the solidifier A.
